How often to get a Haircut and why consistency is worth it

For years I have run a long hair planning centre,, if you are wondering what that is?, it’s simple. I help people grow their hair, hairdressers have a reputation for cutting hair too short. I aim never to do that, and I tell my clients that a very small trim very often will help them achieve the long hair they desire. It’s a problem if you just don’t cut your hair because the ends split. Then you have to cut a ton off just to get to a decent base line. Olivia came to me about 5 years ago, she was fed up as her hair never got past her shoulders. We treat the hair and cut a quarter of an inch off every six weeks. Now the hair is nearly to her waist and super shiny! The other key is getting past the boredom, to grow your hair you have to avoid spur of the moment restyles. For long hair consistency and perseverance is the key

If you have ever tried and failed to grow your hair past your shoulders, then you will be familiar how frustrating this can be. You may have even said to a friend "My hair can only grow so far", well the good news is you are probably wrong.

Hair condition is a balance of moisture and protein, and too much of either is not generally a good thing. When choosing a shampoo and conditioner always go for the best quality you can afford. I always use the analogy that if you buy a really expensive car would you wash it with washing up liqiud? probably not.

An erroneous idea is that by just leaving your hair it will get longer, you need to trim it to avoid split ends.

if you consistently condition and trim you will reach the length you desire.
